Robert Edwin Clark, a resident of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, for the past seven years, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 27, 2006, at the age of 72 years. He was born on August 17, 1934, in Edmond, Oklahoma, the son of Russell E. and Martha L. (Skelton) Clark. He was raised and attended school in Oklahoma, where he was placed in advanced classes in school and started college at the age of seventeen. He attended the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University. He earned a Ph.D. in geography from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He taught geography at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for thirty-four years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960.
On March 27, 1999, he was united in marriage to Betty Miller in Shell Rock, Iowa, and they made their home together in Sedro-Woolley. Bob will be remembered for his love of animals. He raised Gordon Setters and Sussex Spaniels, and was involved in showing dogs for many years. He was also a car enthusiast and had a passion for Alfa Romeos.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Miller-Clark at the family home in Sedro-Woolley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Douglas and Amanda Clark of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Michael Stuart Clark and Melissa Mihali of Seattle, Washington. Bob was a dear man and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2006, at 11:00 am at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Wendy Tingley of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Sedro-Woolley officiating. Services and cremation under the direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
