Peter Wildeboer, 87, died of natural causes at the Allison Care Center in Allison on Tuesday, February 6, 1990. Pete worked at UNI in the Coal and Ash area from July 1952 until his retirement in May 1969. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 8, 1990, at the Hope Reformed Church in Parkersburg, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg. Pete was born July 7, 1902, in the Netherlands. He married his wife, Tillie, on December 27, 1927.
Pete is survived by his wife, Tillie; three sons, Duane of Parkersburg, and James and Robert, both of Cedar Falls; four daughters, Bernice Fiala and Lillian Ireland, both of Davenport, Mary Van Hauen of Waterloo, and Sheryl Haats of Decorah; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers. Pete was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Memorials should be sent to the Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
