Obituary for Professor Nathan M. Talbott, Emeritus Professor from the Department of Political Science 

Word has been received that Emeritus Professor Nathan M. Talbott died on February 25, 1996, in Portland, after suffering a stroke. Dr. Talbott joined the then Iowa State Teachers College in 1956 and retired in 1983 after a long, distinguished teaching career. He taught courses in Political Science and in his area of specialization, East Asia. Dr. Talbott received several research grants/fellowships and was a visiting scholar in Thailand in 1965-1967. Professor Talbott played the key role in establishing the Foreign Area Studies Program at UNI. Dr. Talbott is survived by his wife, Alice, and five children.
