Scope and Content

This box contains a very small collection of material related to Ruth Suckow. Included the Ruth Suckow Newsletter, from 2006 and 2009-2021.

Of special interest is a fragment of an unfinished novel, written in pencil by Ruth Suckow herself.  It was called A Little Girl’s World. Although never finished, her short story “Eminence” may have been derived from this fragment.

Included with the fragment are two copies of a typewritten letter written by her husband, Ferner Nuhn, to an unnamed editor at Midwest magazine, offering the fragment for publication

  • Folder 1: Eight issues of the Ruth Suckow Newsletter, 2006-2021 - **Please note that Box 1 is located in the Manuscripts Oversized section of the shelf range**
  • Folder 2: Unfinished novel fragment, A Little Girl's World
