Historical Note
Little is known about Mrs. Elliott beyond names and dates of family members. Her connection to UNI, if there was one, is unclear.
Mrs. Elliot was born Grace Myers on June 18, 1883, daughter of William Myers (1837-1905) and Mary Myers (1844-1924). She had seven siblings, Edgar, Henry, Bertha, Willie, Arthur, Raymond, and Teressa. She married Chester O. Elliott (November 25, 1886-June 7, 1964) sometime prior to 1916. The couple had one son, Nathan (1916-1965), who married Edna Rauscher (1917-1994).
The family lived in Lockridge, Iowa. Mrs. Elliott died on June 15, 1968, three days short of her 81st birthday. Grace, Chester, and Nathan Elliott are all buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
