Historical Note

The Artist's Studio series was produced by the State College of Iowa (SCI, now the University of Northern Iowa) Department of Art, alongside Herbert Hake, director of radio-TV. The series was part of the Iowa Schooltime broadcasts and featured SCI art faculty working on an artwork from its earliest stages to its completion. Mediums included sculpture, painting, pottery, and crafts. The goal of the series was to generate greater interest in creative expression.
