Scope and Content

This collection of photographic negatives, probably taken by Public Information Services, covers the period from about 1940 through about 1963. A few examples date back to the early 1900s, but the bulk of the negatives date from the middle and late 1950s. Most of the photographs are of the UNI community, buildings, and events. ACCIA, sports, drama, beauty pageants, and dances are especially well-represented. There are some off-campus shots of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area and of UNI alumni teaching.

There are approximately 1,050 negatives in this collection. Most are 3” x 4,” but some are 2¼” x 2¼” and others are 6¼” x 4½.”
