Historical Note

The University of Northern Iowa Alumni Association and Rod Library Special Collections & University Archives collaborated to develop Panther Pride: Homecoming 2017 Oral Histories. This project was especially designed to capture memories of the Golden Grads group in 2017. For this project, students and alumni participating in Homecoming 2017 events shared memories from their time on campus and advice to future students. These oral histories were video recorded at Rod Library with the help of the Digital Media Hub staff and students. Recordings originally took place in the Library’s green screen room, but due to noise, the location shifted to the Library’s first floor.

Scope and Content

The Panther Pride Oral Histories collection contains access copies 15 mp4 video and audio recordings of oral histories conducted in October 2017 with University of Northern Iowa students and alumni. Preservation recordings also exist in the form of .MOV and .MXF files. These interviews were deposited in UNI’s institutional repository, ScholarWorks, and can be found online here.
